Software

I occationally find myself writing a small shell script or batch file to make my life and job easier, I recently decided to relase these to the public as open source. Most of my work is Collective Commons and "Share alike". Each program/script below will tell you the license as well as include source code. Phil

Phils Post Ubuntu Install Script

I got tired of installing the same software everytime I made a new system or reinstalled... Look at the txt version to see all it installs, basically system updates, awn, google chrome, wally, pidgin, wine, vlc, flash, java, mp3 support, all that jazz.

Phils Wine Install Script

Some people have a hard time installing wine and winetricks to get games and the like to run. Hence this script was born. It also saves you alot of typing :)
This script will take awhile to run, it downloads several hundred MB of data, give it time. It will install C++ runtime files, VB6 runtimes, DirectX, DotNET 2.0 Core Fonts, and some font-smoothers.

Phils Rar Install Script

Many people for some reason use RAR files on the internets...not sure why...but they do. For those of us who use Ubuntu or any Debian based system, Fileroller (archive packer/unpacker) doesn't support these files out of the box. However, there is a way. This script automates installing winrar into Ubuntu.
This script will DL winrar for linux, install it in /usr/bin, and allow you to open rar files.
